Program Description

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree with a duration of 1.5 years. The program
comprises a total of 54 credit hours, structured to provide a balanced integration of
theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
The curriculum includes twelve (12) core courses of three credit hours each, focusing
on foundational and professional education studies. In addition, students are required
to complete four (4) content-specialized courses, each carrying three credit hours, to
strengthen subject-specific expertise. The program also includes three (3) credit hours
of teaching practice, providing hands-on classroom experience, and three (3) credit
hours of a research project, aimed at developing research skills and evidence-based
teaching practices.
This comprehensive structure ensures the preparation of competent, research-oriented,
and professionally ethical educators aligned with national and international standards.

Scope of the Program

The B.Ed (1.5-Year) program is designed to prepare competent and professionally skilled teachers to meet the growing demand for qualified teacher educators at school and higher education levels. The program aims to offer an exemplary and need-based teacher education framework that enables graduates to make informed and effective decisions in diverse educational contexts, while promoting professional excellence within the socio-cultural framework of society.

The program focuses on the development of glocal knowledge by integrating global educational perspectives with local realities, thereby fostering critical and rational thinking among future educators. It equips learners with essential competencies related to pedagogy, curriculum development, and effective curriculum transition. In addition, the program emphasizes digital literacy, empowering learners to take ownership of teaching and learning through technology-integrated educational practices.

Graduates of this program are prepared to contribute meaningfully to the education sector as reflective practitioners, curriculum implementers, and teacher educators capable of addressing contemporary educational challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a minimum of sixteen (16) years of education in an academic discipline other than Education, such as MA, MSc, or a four-year BS degree, from an HEC-recognized institution, with at least a Second Division or an equivalent qualification.

To be eligible for the B.Ed 1.5 Year degree, a student must:

  • Successfully complete and pass all prescribed courses totaling at least 54 credit hours.
  • Achieve a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
